 The Indian National Anthem was officially adopted by the Indian government in 1950. Although the song was originally composed in Bengali, it is now also sung in Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Kannada, Nepali, and many other regional languages of India. 

The music is considered to be a gift from one of India's greatest musicians, Rabindranath Tagore, who wrote the song in 1911.

The national anthem of India is a song with words by Rabindranath Tagore and music composed by Nobel Laureate, Carnatic musician, and composer Dr. Bhimsen Joshi. The song was first sung at the Calcutta session of the Indian National Congress in 1911. 

The song was first published in the book "Jana Gana Mana" in the same year. It was also sung at the second session of the Indian National Congress in Kolkata in 1919.
